Young-Eun Choi grew up influenced by her artistic family of architects and artists. Always eager to learn and explore the world within her art, Choi moved to New York after obtaining two BFA degrees in Painting from a university in Seoul and the Rhode Island School of design and an MFA in sculpture from HUNTER College. After starting her career in the art world, working with famous Vito Aconci in his Brooklyn studio and being a gallery assistant in Chelsea, a life changing experience came when she started experimenting with bead weaving techniques and creating custom jewelry.

CYE Designs was founded in 2003 in New York City, then in 2005, officially launched in Seoul, South Korea. CYE Designs represents a perfect combination of craftsmanship and modern design, expressed in two main lines: fine and fashion jewelry. The fine jewelry collection, which is the brand's soul and main line, places emphasis on natural gemstones, accompanied by unusual, collective stones, custom cutting, and carving and classic goldsmith techniques. By the rarity and the nature of materials most of the fine jewelry pieces are one of a kind. In her fashion jewelry collection, Choi explores a more trendy, structural and architectural approach to create unique statement jewelry without the limitation of precious metals. Each line is designed to reach the ultimate expression of personal style within the latest trends.

CYE Designs jewelry has been selling in high-end designers’ select shops and major department stores in Seoul, South Korea over ten years.
